A Song of Blackness is in this month’s issue of Beneath Ceaseless Skies, and can be read for free at the magazine’s online portal.
I wrote this story after reading Bethan’s Garden by Sandra Tayler. Sandra’s story was so full of life and vibrancy and meaning that some of my recent stores — Pastry Run and Let There Be Write — felt frivolous by comparison. I wanted to write something that mattered. I wanted to tell a beautiful, entertaining story, but I also wanted to leave the reader with something to think about. Hopefully, I’ve succeeded.cross-posted from nancyfulda.com
